Charities back our police officers and rescue volunteers, find homes for stray animals, fund community athletics, work with troubled youths, and perform other very important functions. We need these organizations to help make our communities special places to live. But during tough economic times, charitable organizations struggle to continue their good work.

Fortunately, in Virginia, charities are permitted to raise money by operating bingo games! In 1973, the Virginia General Assembly determined that bingo games and raffles would be permitted in our state as the only exception to the general prohibition against gambling. This allows non-profit religious, educational, charitable and community organizations to raise the funds they need.

They've been relying on bingo ever since. Each bingo game is staffed and operated by a charity's own volunteer workers. With your participation, bingo revenue enables these good organizations to continue serving our community.
